Zoopraxic is a new performance and installation space based in the vibrant indie arts community of Long Island City, Queens NY inside an old electrical company building.

Creative director Helen Banner curates a rotating ensemble of multi-disciplinary collaborators to make shows that utilize site-specific performance + expanded cinema + art installations + live visuals + moving image + animation. Every project sees the space completely transformed from a micro theatre to a gallery to a space to just hang out and enjoy an experience with a maximum audience of thirty. Everything is purposefully small, scrappy and ambitious.

In our main 600 sq foot studio, you can see theatre and experimental performance on a vintage folding stage.

In the adjacent 150 square foot studio, we focus on installation, moving image, virtual and mixed reality experiences.

You can find us at 11-51 44th Road LIC. Zoopraxic is a 4 min walk from the Court Square MTA station which is on the E/7/G.
